My name is Christin Remlinger and I am a midwife.

As a trained professional midwife I help you go through your pregnancy and take care of you and your newborn’s health after you give birth.

I visit the families at home and in the rooms of the "Hebammenpraxis Löbtau" on Bünaustraße 23 in Dresden.

How do midwives work?

Midwives in Germany are highly trained professionals and work either freelance, or in a hospital or „Geburtshaus“.

Midwives and gynecologists help women through pregnancy and postpartal. You have the right to get both: a doctor and midwife. We work hand in hand together.

In most cases the health insurances cover all costs for my services. Please check your health insurance for more details.

individual birth preparation

I offer individual birth preparation 'Birth Compact' for €250

Flexible appointments possible - 2.5 hours (also in the evening hours or at your home)

Postnatal care

The first days and weeks with your child will be very exciting and demanding. It is a special time to get to know each other.

postpartum care - arriving at home

After giving birth you could either leave the hospital 4 to 6 hours after the birth. Or you also have the option to stay at the maternity ward for 3 days.

In any case your baby will receive some important tests, such as metabolism screening and pediatrician check-up U1 and U2 with hip ultrasound and hearing test. If you leave the hospital after giving birth you can simply organise these tests yourself. I will give you all required information.

IGEL-service: metabolism screening

If you leave the clinic 4-6 hours after the birth you might need my IGEL-service (individual health care service) for your baby´s metabolism screening.

This screening can be taken through by me on the second day after the birth.

To visit you as soon as possible after the birth I will be 'on-call' for you around due date. Therefore I will take a fee of 250€ which will be refunded by your health insurance.

This individual health care service is not needed if you stay 3 days on a clinics maternity ward after giving birth. You will already receive this test there.
